My best friend is a Dodgers fan. When we were kids, and the Dodgers with Koufax beat the Yanks in the sixties, we made a bet that if they ever met again, we'd bet 100 dollars. To us back then, it was like it was a million dollars. So in 1977, when the finally did meet again, we honored the bet and I won the 100 dollars.
When they met again in 1978, he bet me again, but a bit more conservatively, for 50 dollars. So I took him for another 50 dollars. In 1981, they met again, and this time he didn't want to bet and the Dodgers won.
So the other day, we made another 100 dollar bet if they did end up in the World Series again.
I figured I'm still playing with house money now. But not too sure they will meet the way it looks now.

They had periods of minimal hitting during the regular season, but generally played well. But now, past several innings left 19 on base. And they are making pretty bad defensive mistakes like dripping a fly ball. If they lose, they have only themselves to blame.
