As far as the edit window, that was set so that replying to a post, including quoting or liking, will not be compromised if the original post is changed. If you have a small change, such as a typo, you can send a PM requesting an edit. Alternatively, if there are no replies, you can send a PM requesting the post be deleted and then create a new post.

It happened when I clicked on a notification. I wonder if the post I was notified on was removed. I think it was a CNN rating post.
