Currently, after a new post is created, it can be edited for up to 10 minutes and deleted for up to 10 minutes.
These kinds of limits are pretty common in forums. The reasons generally are to ensure stability in discussions. For example, a post may elicit multiple answers. If the post is changed, then the responses might not make sense, a situation not fair to respondents.

Re: Editing and deleting time limits for new posts
John, et al, help me remember; after I use spell check and make a correction the preview and/or submit the post, the BBCodes are included with the corrected word. Also, while using LARGE font that particular word reverts back to the default size. I know there must be an HTML code or something messing around with it, example: =19.5pxfont size, corrected.
Disabling BBCode has no effect. Must be a setup code to use?

Found that if I type in default font size, then make corrections and afterwards upsize the BBCodes are not there.
