Sure looks that way.

Speaking as a non-roman catholic ... the pope needs to get elected.  The pope before this one retired ... not being a scholar on roman catholic history ... but I never remember reading about a pope retiring ... yep, I read about popes being deposed (avignon popes et al).  So with what appears to have been a typical conservative pope ... he quits ... then the MAJORITY of cardinal people elect this current clown.  Somehow, it gives the appearance of a swelling movement within the roman catholic church.  Now hold that thought because now I will shift gears to the current US political quagmire. 

Yep, the dims hate The Donald ... but they hated the hag even more ... hence we get sanity.  Now the freebe culture is worshipping the socialists and even though bernie is out ... the puppet is in.  So now, EVERY dim in the country is yet again left with the delemma of how/or if to vote.  The hard core left is resorting to every trick in the book to steal the election ... but methinks the dims that hated the hag ... are really faced with another decision.  It won't surprise me if they don't vote at all.  

So it appears to me that both the roman catholics and the dims are being runover by their leadership.  For the roman catholics ... it's the cardinal people.  For the dims ... it's the dnc, pee, chuckles, and the muzzie crew.

Years ago I was told that the pope was infallable in the areas of ethics and morals ... now I be learned that economics is aka ethics and morals ... who said an old dog can't learn new tricks ???

 

I think many people don't understand the concept of the Pope and infallibility.  He is not said to have absolute infallibility on any and all matters.  My understanding is that he has infallibility on matters of the Catholic church - maybe that includes ethics and morals, not sure.

You are essentially correct. The Pope is not infallible when making pronouncements dealing with matters outside the Church - such as extolling the "disadvantages" of free market capitalism. However, when making a pronouncement dealing with a specific question of doctrine of the Church, then the belief is that such pronouncements are made via the Holy Spirit acting within the Pope, and those types of pronouncements are infallible.

That said, I am waiting to hear exactly what the Pope did say. While I am most definitely not a fan of the politics held by Pope Francis, the MSM has been notorious about mis-reporting, in context and accurately, many of the "controversial" things supposedly said by the Pope.

I am a practicing catholic and have been very disappointed along with many other of my catholic friends on this pope.
I'm sure he was "voted" in- thinking he could get more of the younger crowd interested in catholicism but he is really too far
to the left for my taste.
