When wood smoke flavors October's sky
And brown grass carpets the forest's floor
As the north wind whispers her lonely sigh
And the sumac leaves blaze red once more
Then loved ones dear, long laid to rest
Take up again their familial roles
While reminding me of a life so blessed
Like windblown leaves, they embrace my soul.
