Internet issues during these times

Regardless of the election results, we expect leftists (including varieties of socialists, Marxists, Communists, Democrats) will attack conservative-oriented websites.  The experience we had with a previous, short-lived site made us acutely aware of the problems.  In addition to changing our name to remove a target on our backs in the short term, we have taken additional measures to protect us from two of the most common types of attacks:

1. Complaints, including multiple complaints, to a host organization, falsely asserting improper content.

2. Denial of service (DOS) attacks which involve automated servers to bombard a site to overload it and prevent normal functioning.

While we expect our site to be protected, we do share server resources with other sites that may not have the same protections.  The result is DOS attacks directed at other sites on our shared server could impact us.  DOS attacks could result in slow response, or even error messages.  Our moderators are active and will promptly respond, and our host organization is also very responsive.

Hopefully we will not experience any problems, but if they do arise, realize they are the result of internet criminals and we will promptly respond to restore functionality.

I had the same thing - for hours it was impossible to get in here. I thought maybe we were having to back - again - to the old site. Seems to be fine now.

         Yep, here too (Pacifica, CA). We've got AT&T. They came up with a complete lie about a "service change" they suddenly and unannounced need to perform.

      And!, they'll do it this Wednesday.
      I know blonde level little about this stuff but my wife (yeah, okay, I admit, she's blonde) asked our younger daughter (yep, reddish blonde) what to do. Answer: hot spot off iPhone.
      And that's what I've been doing all day. Works fine.

Sorry you all had the problems. In the future, we have taken steps to notify our host provider more promptly.

And we do monitor the previous site https://conservativesforum.boards.net  (but not continuously).

Appears we all have the same concerns...and I noticed the slow loading here as well. I would not be shocked to see DOS attack crap, especially if Trump runs the table. Just heard Fakebook won't allow 'political comments' period...typical tactics from big tech tyrants.

Also, I suggest anyone in a very blue area to not go out in public. I live in a mid sized town in Massachusetts and recently some Trump supporters were attacked in our downtown area. Personally, I'm loaded up with supplies and could hunker down for literally a month if necessary. 

So, here we go and like Hannity says, "buckle up"!

    It's guaranteed that Libs will attack anything Trump in the SF area tonight.  A good friend / neighbor got attack four years ago tonight.  His mother lived in West Portal ($$$), he went to a local bar to celebrate and was jumped by four Dems later that night.

Well, in the event that this site does disappear in the near future, I just want everyone here to know how much I have enjoyed being a small part of this group. It's nice to have someplace to go where you can get factual reports and the opinions of like-minded people. Thanks to all.
