I remember seeing The Exorcist when it opened in the '70's at 34th Street NYC. The line went all the way around the corner. At one point, an usher with a bullhorn stood on a side wall yelling "from this point on you probably won't get in." When he repeatedly yelled that, the entire large line of people began clapping and yelling out loud "we probably won't get in". Well, we got in and it was well worth the wait. Hoping to get to see the latest sequel. Have to say "Exocist II:The Heretic" was probably the worst sequel I ever saw.
