The irony in all this is, the Yankees are in last place in the East but if they were in the Central division they'd be in first!  Doesn't seem right that a team or teams get in playoffs with worse records than those in the East.

I liked it when all teams were in one league with no divisions like it used to be.  The could have just simplified it by having the top 4 teams with the best records get in the playoffs.

The first place teams in the Al play each other - winner goes to World Series.
The first place teams in the Nl play each other - winner goes to World Series.

First place has to mean something.
No playoffs for second place or wild card teams that sometimes don't even have a .500 record.
