I Left the Republican Party

Post: # 16386Post dustymars »

Well, today I dumped the Republican Party.  The career for life politicians finally drove me out. So, I sent e-mails to my two Senators and my House Rep;

"I have been a registered Republican for 60 years and voted Republican for all these years.  I have great respect for you and thank you for your service in the U.S. Senate (or House).  If you run again I intend to vote for you.  However, I am leaving the Republican Party and registering as Independent. Because of the way our President Trump has been treated by many in the Senate leadership and some in the House I will no longer support the Republican Party.  Again, thank you for your service and for representing Florida in the U.S. Congress."

Of course, much of it was of no surprise to me, but I just took it for too long.

I really did not leave the Republican Party.  Yeah, I Democrated, but it was a white lie.   We must take back our party.

Agree.  A third party would only split us and help the Dems.  Rebuilding the party and rooting out the RINOS must be a priority.
