The government apparently forced Elon to do all sorts of silly-azz studies to prove that his Starliner capsules wouldn’t hit any sharks or whales during ocean based re-entry! Gee, you don’t think the government might dislike Mr Musk based on something like his political beliefs do you? I mean, nobody would do something like that, right?

Actually, this kind of nonsense has been going on for forty years. The endless intrusion into our private lives and business by every level of government started way back in the 70's.Canis wrote:Fri Jan 02, 1970 1:55 am The government apparently forced Elon to do all sorts of silly-azz studies to prove that his Starliner capsules wouldn’t hit any sharks or whales during ocean based re-entry! For example, we own some "oil property." It's been in the family for a hundred years. The last time it was drilled on (1990's) there were two full time "spotter" watching every movement of the operation. And those operations are BIG.
What were the spotters doing a normal person might query?
Looking for a type of field mouse (mice?) that is considered important to that environment.
The environment?
The Elk Oil Reserve west of Bakersfield, CA. There are thousands of wells and a billion pieces of equipment in that area which dates back a hundred years.
