I don't know. Joint ops can sometimes be a tricky thing. Too many things can go wro-wro-wro-wrong when competing concerns take part. Chances are to great of creating more whistle-blower. 'specially when the objective is to not only silence one butt also send a message to other potential whistle-blowers.
Although the joint CIA/Mafia op at Dealy Plaza in Dallas back in 1963 was highly sucessful. Butt then Johnson was a cold hearyed ambitious SOB an' G. Gordon Liddy was very good.
