As the late great Rush Limbaugh used to say: "words mean things."  The word "deconstruct" does not mean what you apparently think it means...

deconstruct /dē″kən-strŭkt′/ transitive verb

1. To break down into components; dismantle."a toxic substance that can be deconstructed into harmless chemicals."
2. To analyze (a literary text, for example) by deconstruction or in such a way as to expose its underlying assumptions or implicit ideological stance.

The course title refers to the analysis of patriotism in the modern world, not the destruction of it.

Morton Ender is a sociologist, who wrote a book referring to our troops as "McSoldiers."  So seeing him teaching seminars on cross-dressing is no surprise.  Of course if the leaders are gonna normalize cross dressing in the military, Hudson High may as well teach courses on it.

I think the real purpose of courseware like this is to make any cadet still possessing any remaining moral values after his/her plebe brainwashing to retch and leave the institution screaming, leaving those more "malleable" to be shaped in the form of the beastmasters.
