Florida Bans Homeless Encampments
On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) signed a bill into law that bans homeless encampments in the state of Florida.
“Florida will not allow homeless encampments to intrude on its citizens or undermine their quality of life like we see in states like New York and California,” said DeSantis during a press conference.
No druggie homeless, no snow, and no income tax. Not to shabby.

There are people out there who need help. Sometimes that help has to come in the form of a kick in the pants. Jus' call it tough love.

I'd love it if Abbott proposed the same thing in Texas. Vice-president Abbott, anybody?

Re: Florida Bans Homeless Encampments
From what I glean from the article is that DeSantis is just removing the homeless from the streets and parks and putting them in shelters, while banning the use of drugs in such shelters and providing drug and alcohol treatment to occupants who need it. If some liberal judge has a problem with that (and of course you can never put it past them) then, as a Floridian, I think I will start pulling my hair out!kybeagle wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 3:41 pmI was just thinking the same thing. Re: Florida Bans Homeless Encampments
Here in Washington some of the communities tried to kick them out of the parks and were shut down. Some commie judge said they couldn’t remove them from public areas unless they could provide a proper shelter. The problem is that lots of the smaller towns don’t have the facilities. It sounds like DeSantis is on the right track if FL has shelters available.

I understand that this kind of San Francisco nonsense is happening in the Communist State of Austin (which I never go to)..but Abbott hasn't sent in the bulldozers yet.
I like Abbott but he is WAY TOO POLARIZING to be a VP candidate.....
