Watching Janice Dean on Fox, this one stands to be the storm of the century! Everyone please, please RUN right now!

Ms Dean says the storm surge is going to be totally deadly. Gov DeSantis has called out all of the National Guard already. You can always rebuild or get another home. When I was very young we lost our house to a fire…it was bad but we recovered. Everyone has to evacuate!

I am staying put as I always do.
Everything from outside is now in the garage so there is nothing to blow around and cause damage.
My neighbors stay put also and we all keep watch for each other.

We all have been through many of these and so far the most damage has been one of my roof tiles blew off of my roof, and one neighbor had a dozen of those fancy tera cota  roof tiles break off and blow away.
My generator has gas -- I'm ready -- bring it on and get it over.

As long as you’re not in a flood zone staying put and hunkering down is ok. It’s just very dangerous to remain anywhere that tends to take on storm surge…this one is supposed to surge as high as 15 feet!

I'm over a mile high in the Rocky Mtns, yes, the Rockies do go through Wyoming and other states. Some think they are only in Colorado. I will stay with snow, wind and cold over what those poor folks are going through in other states. We WILL help you even if FEMA spent all designated money that was supposed to go American citizens.

I’ll tell you a little Grim Fairy Tale. I lived through Loma Prieta 1989 in San Fran. It was bad. The Marina district evaporated into the Bay. Guess who jumped in to help us. Absolutely nobody. FEMA could not even find us on the map. At least George Bush 41 came out to have a look and before the door on Air Force One even opened the idiot mayor of San Fran (Art Agnos) was yelling, screaming, browbeating and carrying on like a banshee before Bush’s foot hit the step. 88 people died. Major freeway pancaked...SBL probably remembers. There’s more…later…maybe…

Indeed I do remember that quake.  I was on an athletic field with a soccer team I coached; about 5:15PM, sump'ns likes dats.
Anyhoo, there was a bang (houses), the entire field rose up, lowered, another bang (same houses) the field rose up in the opposite direction and lowered again.  It was a wave going and coming.  I think the reverse did most of the damage.
