Disagreement with the current government of Israel is one thing, calling for violence against the Jewish people is quite another. The current climate against Jewish Americans does indeed fit into the category of ‘hate crimes’ and should be treated in the same manner as hate crimes against Black Americans or any other racial or ethic group.

Jews are Jews based on ancestry. But that doesn't make them good Jews. According to media reports, in December 2020, Father John Sheehan’s name was included on the Marianist list of members found to have sexually abused a minor. In January 2021, he was named in a lawsuit alleging that he and another clergyman sexually abused a 14-year-old girl when the girl was a volunteer at the Marianist Family Retreat Center in Cape May Point, New Jersey, in 1974.
