Forum Rules, User Agreement and Privacy Policy

Post: # 62Post admin »

This Forum is for conservatives. You can be banned, posts deleted or not permitted to post for any reason, no reason or for editorial purposes. You agree, through your use of this Forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law as legal actions can be taken against you. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Articles and links to articles are for debate purposes only. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, promoting other forums, and solicitations are not allowed on this Forum.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on this Forum. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages and are not responsible for their content. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of this Forum. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. Posts or content can be removed for editorial purposes. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum, and any related websites to this forum. We also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.

Debate and Discussion

Be willing to engage in fact-based, constructive debate. Look for ways to inform and learn from others. If you claim that something is a fact, back it up with a source, which should contain facts, not someone else's opinion. If you cannot produce evidence when someone asks you to cite your sources, we may remove your posts. If you started the thread, then we may remove or close the thread. If you repeat the same claims without adding new information, we might remove your posts. Again, if you started the thread, then we may remove or close the thread.

Posts that appear to be designed to cause argument or irritate rather than contribute to a constructive discussion are considered trolling and will be treated as such.

If a new thread repeats a topic that has been previously discussed or debated, without basis for a separate discussion, the thread may be closed, removed, or merged into an earlier thread on the same topic. A news report on a previously discussed issue doesn't automatically deserve a new thread.

You are responsible for your own behavior. "I was goaded into breaking the rules" is not an excuse. If you think a post is inappropriate, report it to a moderator using a Private Message only, ignore it, and/or respond without breaking the rules.

Privacy Policy

After you register and log into this Forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed. Your e-mail is not given out or sold and is only used for the benefit of the Forum and related sites.

Please note that with each post, your IP address and e-mail is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this Forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement. In order to function, this forum uses cookies stored on your computer. By registering you are also giving explicit permission for those cookies to be placed on your computer.

This forum uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads on this website. Ad companies may use information (not including information you might provide here like your name and email address) about your visits to this and other websites such as clicks and time spent on the site in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may interest you and use cookies for such purposes. This agreement can be changed without notice.

About posting news articles.

Guidelines

You need a link to the news article. Use a limited amount of the article with your opinion.

If your copyright material is posted on the forum send a PM to a Moderator stating you want it removed and it will be deleted.

You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Articles and links to articles are for debate purposes only.

Posting of your spam, links, articles, images or other material on this forum:

If you or your readers post your spam, links, articles, opinion editorials, images, pictures, or other material on this Forum and you do not want such posts due to copyright or other reasons, place a notice next to your articles, images, links, and share links, on your web site or blog stating that your readers shall not post such material on here. You should take steps including but not limited to notices, disable right click, and not including share button links, to prevent your readers from posting your material, links, articles, and images on this forum if you don't want it to be posted.

We will remove your copyright material if requested by PM or e-mail. Each forum topic post link must be included in the request. It may take time to remove posts because it's manual and the time to investigate the request, and likely done within several days. However, the above posting violation applies if the removal is due to a copyright claim or other demand rather than a simple request.

Fair Use Notice:
This site may contain copyrighted material posted by members. Such material is posted to advance understanding, debate, commentary, criticism, news reporting, educational use, information, research, knowledge, and educational purposes of the environment, news, politics, human rights, economy, democracy, science, and social justice issues, etc. Credit should be given to the author of all such copyrighted material when posting.

We believe this constitutes a fair use of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US Copyright Law. In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107. For Fair Use Policy description click  here.

Specific Instructions

1) Copy and paste the title if you want, or use your own title. The Forum Software makes a title mandatory.

2) Post your description of the article/opinion piece either here or after the quoted part of the actual article.

3) Copy and paste a portion, not the complete article, of the article to entice the reader to follow the link and/or back up your assertions above.

4) Place the copied and pasted portion in a quote box. To ensure it is clear what text is quoted, to make it easier for the reader to discern your opinion, or thoughts, from the article you are presenting and quoting. Using the Quote function is most desirable because it clearly shows what is quoted, but other techniques such as using italics within quote mark are acceptable if it is clear what is quoted. (This is not mandatory, but recommended, to make it easier for the reader to discern your opinion, or thoughts, from the article you are presenting and quoting.)

5) Place a link to the rest of the article/story. The link should show the URL as opposed to masking text such as CLICK HERE (This is Mandatory). If your story is from a site such as WSJ, you also might want to add "may require subscription to see whole article," next to the link.

Offending posts will have to be deleted due to the fact the moderators won't have time to "edit" said posts.

Re: Forum Rules, User Agreement and Privacy Policy

Sometimes it seems necessary to get firm and/or confront members that are simply not happy being here with us. It is obvious in their postings/PMs. To allow problems to continue unrestrained doesn't contribute to an enjoyable experience for anyone here.

It is something that should be understood by everyone.

1. Being rude in postings to other forum members. If the accused is having a bad day, they may be notified with a warning but the continual practice will not be tolerated.

2. Being rude to the forum moderators. We try to have patience. We would appreciate a response with good intent. We have noticed that the ones that do not respond, and/or take their grievance to the forum, have no intention of complying with the rules.

3. Announcing in a topic or in a post that one wishes to leave this forum and in their announcement they include complaining or bitter reasons or the like! Those topics are poison to readers and will be deleted. If anyone does not like this forum, then they should leave. But we will not allow the posting of announcements to such. Why? Because it leaves forum members with caustic and poisoned thoughts full of presumption.

This may sound extreme but why would a forum exist where people discussed whether the forum was bad? This is absurd circular reasoning. Again, if you begin finding yourself unhappy with this forum, then please leave. Please do not leave with words of criticism.

4. Complaining and announcing that all of the members in here are deceived, blind, etc, etc. Blanket statements are unfair and serve no purpose other than to disrupt. Airing your grievances elsewhere, badmouthing decisions made here, in a one-sided manner is dishonest and deceitful.

Forum members, if you are having a problem with the leadership in here, then please PM and address the matter. Spreading gossip behind our backs through PM's serves no purpose other than to cause strife.
