Don't know about your state, but YES, in Montana the vast majority of DUI sentences are dismissed or suspended, regardless of who the offender. Some people get 3, 4, 6, even more before they're given more than a couple days with the rest of so-called "mandatory" sentencing suspended to reduced for this, that or the other excuse. Minors seem to be the only ones given community service - and then it is related to the "minor in possession" charge rather than the DUI. And then we "wonder" why DUIs remain a serious issue on Montana roads.
