Heart Attack and Stints

Having just suffered a Heart Attack and gotten stints, I'm curious if any other members here have been through this experience? What lifestyle changes did you make to alter the chance of a recurrence? I had significant blockage, and the pain of the heart attack is not something I want to re-live. There's the little death thing also. The Cardiologist and staff just give the standard spill, give up about everything. I'm just curious what has worked for people. I will be on a bucketload of meds.

I had gone for an artery test in August 2017. Was told I was a walking time bomb. Scheduled for open heart surgery and sent right to hospital. Delays incurred, and then when it was supposed to happen several days later, I was told it had to be put off again. They had me sent for a CatScan with contrast the day before and it elevated my kidney levels. Turns out the CatScan was meant for another patient!! After surgery spent six days in ICU. Learned one doesn't have to die first to go through hell. For the next six months I was admitted for severe pancreatitis on five different occasions. Then spent three months in a nursing home with a feeding tube out of my stomach. Weight went from 263 to 169. Back to 232 now. Never had a heart attack or a stint.
Since then, I became just grateful to have survived (as they had Hospice on standby at one point). Was told chances existed I may not make it. Can't really say I worry about diet or exercise but I have lowered my stress levels the best I can although with today's current events, it's enough to make any sane man irritable sometimes. Best of luck to you and stay healthy and stay safe.
