Gotta ask again

Yeah ... I have asked about whether taking the vaccine would cause a positive corona test and been told that it wouldn't.

However ... this does not make sense to me.   For decades I was told that the flu shot vaccine was made from "dead/weakened" flu virus.  Three things come to mind ...

1.  Why was there NEVER a follow-up vaccine for the mutations of the original virus ???

2. How do you make a vaccine from a "dead" virus ???  This, to me, is akin to making a fire from old dead ashes from a campfire.

3. And just what the hell is a 'weakened virus' ???  Is there a special filter that discriminates between a healthy virus and a weakened one ???  Now I'm back to the half pregnant bit ... the virus is alive and well or it's not ...

So all of the above brings this non-medical person to the question ... HOW DO THEY MAKE THE VACCINE ???  Yes, I've heard about the plasma from folks who have already had and gotten over the plague ... but from what I've been told, giving plasma is not at the top of fun things to do and to get as much plasma to make the quantities of vaccine requires a sh!tpot full of survivors/volunteers. 

Moving on ... and here's where you medical geniuses come in ... how do you make a vaccine without live virus and if you use live virus ... how does that not make it so that someone doesn't test positive on the plague test ???
