He knows his position is in jeopardy, so he'll do anything to canvas the druggie vote.

I will start by stating that I am opposed to recreational use of marijuana. However, I also am a strong advocate for medical use. Without it I'd be a basket case with no viable method of controlling my chronic headaches. I already ate a hole in my stomach with over-use of n-saids, my liver enzymes have only recently - after more than two years - returned to normal from borderline overuse of acetaminophen, and there is NO WAY i'm gonna take opioids on a regular basis the rest of my life.

The thing about cannabis remaining on the federal no-no list is it interferes with those with legitimate need.  We can use it in states with medical MJ laws without the feds getting on our butts about it EXCEPT when wanting to purchase a new firearm.  THEN we have to fill out a form asking if we have used illegal drugs. If we answer "yes" then we don't get our firearm.  If we answer "no" and they find out (which I do NOT trust the feds to leave my medical records alone) then we lose ALL our firearms and possibly go to jail.

Decriminalization on the federal level with remove that barrier to being able to be treated using cannabis, and still being able to enjoy all of our constitutionally enumerated rights.

Frankly, I just don't care/worry about marijuana all that much. Nope, I far more care/worry about opioids and meth. I do think that pot, like alcohol, needs to be regulated though. Also, IMO removing pot from the domain of the criminal drug cartels would be a very good move. So, do I use marijuana? Nope not at all...I don't even drink very much alcohol (I only like red wine). But, the reality is that people are going to use substances, that will not change. Best bet is to focus on the really dangerous stuff...but just you wait, the Demonrats will soon advocate legality for heroin and fentanyl (both utterly deadly).
