I don't think it would be a good idea for people to bring their children to Times Square New Year's Eve.
All the security in the world is no guarantee to stop a terror attack. A dumb terrorist would try to bring a bomb into the crowd. A smart one would already have placed a bomb and only need a cell phone to detonate. Went to Times Square only one New Year's eve in 1977. Very overrated and would not wish to do it again.
